The 1992 CIS Championships took the place of the USSR Championships (as the Soviet Union has collapsed), as one of the competitions that would determine who will qualify for the Olympics for the Unified Team (former Soviet blocs). Tatiana Lysenko won the all-around, Tatiana Gutsu took gold on every event but floor, and Ludmilla Stovbchataya took gold on floor.
