The 2012 Russian Cup was held on June 12-17 in Penza, Russia.
Format of Competition[]
The team competition was the first competition to take place, and also served as the qualification round. The results of this competition determined which individuals participated in the remaining competitions, which included:
- The all-around final, in which to top sixteen highest scoring individuals in the all-around competed, regardless of regional team affiliation.
- The event finals, in which the eight highest scoring individuals on each apparatus competed. Each regional team was limited to two gymnasts in each apparatus final.
