Format of Competition[]
The competition took place on one day, split into junior and senior divisions. Similar to the Visa Championships, not everyone had to compete the all-around. The gymnasts who specialized and only competed certain events had to scratch (touch the apparatus then salute the judges) on the apparatus they chose not to compete.

Controversy[]
- After withdrawing from the National Team training camp earlier that year, Chellsie Memmel competed on balance beam in order to qualify to the Visa Championships. She ended up falling twice, but still petitioned to Championships. Her petition was denied, as she did not fulfill a minimum score requirement to advance to Championships (a requirement she was not made aware of).
