Format of Competition[]
The competition was split into junior and senior divisions, with both divisions competing in the same two days of competition, where the all-around was contested on both days. The gymnasts who specialized and only competed certain events had to scratch (touch the apparatus then salute the judges) on the apparatus they chose not to compete. The combined total at the end of the second day of competition would stand as the gymnast's final score.

Notable Moments []
- The first day of senior competition was plagued by uncharacteristic falls, similar to the first day of senior competition at the 2011 U.S. National Championships.
- Simone Biles became the second woman to win three straight National All-Around titles. The first was Kim Zmeskal, who won in 1990, 1991, and 1992.
