The 2021 Olympic Trials were set to be held from June 25-28 at the Dome at America's Center in St. Louis, Missouri.[1] This competition determined who will represent the United States at the Olympics in Tokyo. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition was postponed a year, held from June 24-27.[2] The event was originally set to be held at the Enterprise Center, but changed venues due to the ongoing pandemic.[3]

Format of Competition

The competition was the same as the National Championships. There were two days of competition, where the all-around was contested on both days. The gymnasts who specialized and only competed certain events had to scratch (touch the apparatus then salute the judges) on the apparatus they chose not to compete.

The top two all-around finishers after both days of competition would be guaranteed spots on the Olympic team. The rest of the spots would be decided by the Olympic selection committee.
