Georgia Simpson (born October 19 in Perth) is a retired Australian gymnast.
Career[]
Simpson's career was mostly under the radar. She burst onto the international scene in 2012, competing at the American Cup, dazzling fans with her lines and choreography on floor exercise, and placed seventh in the all-around. Her performance at the American Cup made her a favorite for the Australian Olympic team. She competed at the 2012 Pacific Rim Championships. She dislocated her ankle competing on floor exercise. The injury caught everyone's attention in the arena and Simpson had to be carried out on a stretcher. The injury kept Simpson out of competition for several years. She chose to retire and audition for École Nationale de Cirque in 2014. She also attended university, studying sports science and minoring in bio-med.
