Ariana Agrapides (born January 31 in Neptune, NJ) is a retired elite American gymnast. She trained at MG Elite and was coached by Maggie Haney and Victoria Levine. She started gymnastics in 2009, and became successful fairly quickly, winning the Junior National vault title in her first year as an elite gymnast. In the fall of 2019, Agrapides began attending the University of Iowa and competing for their gymnastics team.

Junior Career[]

2013[]

Agrapides competed as a Level 10 gymnast in early 2013, placing ninth in the all-around, second on vault, and fifth on uneven bars at the Junior Olympic Nationals. She qualified for elite level later that year. Her first elite meet was the American Classic, where she won the all-around and uneven bars, and placed second on vault, balance beam, and floor exercise. She went on to compete at the US Classic, where she placed second on vault and twenty-fifth in the all-around. Her scores were good enough to qualify her to her first Junior Nationals.

In August, Agrapides became the Junior National Vault Champion and placed eleventh on floor exercise and eighteenth in the all-around.

2014-2015[]

Agrapides attended multiple National Team training camps throughout the year. In July, she competed at the American Classic, placing second on bars, fourth on vault, and twelfth in the all-around. She sustained a broken toe in training and withdrew from the U.S. Classic, petitioning to the National Championships. She performed watered down routines and placed twenty-first in the all-around.

In 2015, Agrapides dropped down to Level 10 and retired from elite gymnastics.[1]

NCAA Career[]

Agrapides began attending the University of Iowa in the fall of 2019.[2] She competed her freshman year but did not return to the roster the following year, opting to return home to New Jersey.[3]
