Li Yifang (Chinese: 李奕芳, Pinyin: Lǐ Yì Fāng) (born February 1, 1975 in Zhangzhou, Fuijan) is a Chinese elite gymnast. She is a 1992 Olympian. She had the nickname "Glass beauty."
Career[]
Li was added to the Chinese National team in 1988.
Li was chosen to attend the Beijing Asian Games in 1990, finishing first with the Chinese team and second in the all-around and the balance beam.
In 1991, Li was first in the all-around and on floor at Chinese nationals. She was chosen for China's world championship team, placing 14th in the all-around and fourth with the team. She also attended the world championships in Paris in 1992, where only event finals were contested. She made three finals, placing fifth on bars, sixth on floor, and tying for the silver medal on balance beam with Maria Neculiţă of Romania.
Li was chosen for China's Olympic team for the Barcelona 1992 Olympics. The team finished fourth in the team final. She retired at the age of 17 after the Olympics.
After retiring from gymnastics, Li opened a yoga center and became a yoga instructor. She became interested in yoga after it helped her recover from injuries.[1]
