Madalina Alexandra Blendea (born January 8 in Borascu, Gorj) is a retired elite Romanian gymnast. She trained at CNS Cetate Deva and was a member of the National Team from 2010 to 2013.

Junior Career[]

2009-2010[]

In 2009, Blendea competed at the School Nationals, winning gold in the all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam, silver with her team, and placing sixth on floor. She competed at the "Little Gymnast" Nationals later that year, again winning all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam gold, and team and floor exercise silver. At the 2010 School Nationals, she won team, all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam gold, and placed fifth on floor and sixth on vault. She made her international debut at the DKMT Cup, winning silver in the all-around, and went on to win bronze in the all-around at her first Junior Nationals. She was then selected to compete at the Top Gym competition in Belgium, placing fifth on floor, seventh with her team, eleventh on beam, twelfth on bars, and fourteenth in the all-around.

2011[]

She started off 2011 by sweeping the School Nationals. She went on to compete at the Gymnastics Hamburg Tournament in Germany, winning team and balance beam gold. She won another bronze in the all-around at the Junior Nationals and won team and all-around gold at the Alpen Adria Cup. She then competed in a junior friendly against gymnasts from Italy, Finland, and Germany, winning silver with her team and placing sixth in the all-around.

2012-2013[]

In 2012, she almost swept the School Nationals again, but won bronze on vault. In 2013, she competed in a junior friendly against gymnasts from France, winning gold with her team, silver on beam, and placing fourth in the all-around. At the Junior Team Nationals, she won gold with her team and bronze in the all-around.

Blendea retired in 2014 before she became a senior.[1]
