Junior Career[]
2018[]
Miyata made her junior debut at the International Gymnix, where she qualified to the vault and beam event finals and placed 10th in the all-around. Her best placing was 5th on vault, and she placed 7th on beam. She represented Japan again at the Asian Junior Championships, placing 3rd on vault and 2nd with the team. Her season ended at the All-Japan Event Championships, where she placed 5th on vault again.
2019[]
Miyata began the season at the National Championships, but did not qualify to the all-around final as she placed 28th in qualifications. However, she was selected as one of the gymnasts to represent Japan at the first ever Junior World Championships. The team placed 11th, while Miyata placed 23rd in the all-around. She then placed 23rd in the all-around again at the All-Japan Junior Championships.
Senior Career[]
2020[]
As a first-year senior, Miyata was given her first senior international elite assignment at the Melbourne World Cup. She earned a bronze medal on vault. However, the COVID-19 pandemic would prevent her and other gymnasts from attending more international competitions. She competed at the National Championships, but placed 56th in qualifications and did not qualify to the all-around final. She ended the season at the All-Japan Senior Championships, placing 3rd on vault and 10th in the all-around.
2021[]
Miyata began the 2021 season at the National Champs, but did not qualify to the all-around final after placing 36th in qualifications. She had more success at the All-Japan Event Championships, placing 2nd on vault. She would go on to have her most successful competition to that point at the All-Japan Senior Championships, winning the all-around and vault, and placing 2nd on bars, beam and floor. She ended the season at the All-Japan Team Championships, where her team (Sabae Gymnastics) placed 3rd. She was also the highest scorer in the all-around, vault and floor, and the 3rd highest scorer on beam.
2022[]
Miyata continued her rise to the top, taking the silver medal at the National Championships and gold on vault. She would go on to win the NHK Cup and represent Japan at the Asian Championships. The team placed 3rd in the competition, while Miyata won two silver medals on vault and floor. Due to her strong results, she was one of the gymnasts selected for the World Championship team. At the World Championships in Liverpool, she delivered solid performances across the board. Japan placed seventh in the team final, and individually, she placed eighth in the all-around and on floor exercise and won bronze on balance beam.
2023[]
In late April, Miyata competed at the Japanese National Championships, winning silver in the all-around, and later won gold in the all-around at the NHK Cup. At the Japanese Individual National Championships, she won gold on vault and placed seventh on balance beam. In October, she competed at the World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, placing eighth with her team and sixth on vault.
