Shania Adams (born October 20 in Columbus, OH) is an elite American gymnast. She trains at Buckeye Gymnastics under Kittia Carpenter. Her favorite event is uneven bars. In the fall of 2020, she began attending the University of Alabama and competing for their gymnastics team.

Junior Career[]

2014[]

Adams qualified elite at the American Classic, where she placed fifth on floor, eighth on beam, and twenty-sixth in the all-around. At the U.S. Classic, she placed fourteenth on balance beam and thirty-second in the all-around, but she didn't advance to the National Championships.

2015[]

Adams returned to the American Classic, placing fifth on vault, fifteenth on beam, sixteenth in the all-around, seventeenth on uneven bars, and nineteenth on floor exercise. At the U.S. Classic, she placed fifth on floor exercise, sixteenth on vault, twenty-first in the all-around and balance beam, and twenty-ninth on uneven bars. She advanced to her first National Championships, where she placed seventh on uneven bars, fourteenth in the all-around, eighteenth on vault, twentieth on floor, and twenty-second on balance beam.

2016[]

After placing seventh in the all-around at the American Classic, Adams competed at the U.S. Classic, placing ninth on bars, twentieth in the all-around, twenty-first on floor exercise, thirtieth on balance beam, and thirty-fourth on vault. She improved at the National Championships, winning bronze on balance beam and placing fourth in the all-around and eighth on uneven bars. Her all-around placing earned her a spot on the National Team.

Senior Career[]

2017[]

Adams made her senior debut at the U.S. Classic in July, placing fifth on bars and beam, sixth in the all-around, and fifteenth on the uneven bars. In August, she competed at the National Championships, placing eleventh in the all-around and on uneven bars and twelfth on balance beam and floor exercise. She was not added back to the National Team.

2018[]

Adams competed at the American Classic in July, winning silver in the all-around. Later that month, she competed at the U.S. Classic, placing seventh on bars and floor, thirteenth in the all-around, and fifteenth on balance beam. At the U.S. Nationals in Boston, she placed seventh on beam, eighth on bars, twelfth in the all-around, and nineteenth on floor.

2019[]

In June, Adams placed third in the all-around at the American Classic.

In the fall of 2020, she began attending the University of Alabama and competing for their gymnastics team.[1]
