Wu Liufang (Chinese: 吴柳芳; pinyin: Wú Liŭfāng), born on 22 December 1994, is a retired Chinese gymnast.
Career[]
Wu made the Chinese national team in 2008. In January 2009, she competed at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, winning team and balance beam gold medals and placed fifth on uneven bars. At the 11th Chinese National Games in September 2009, she achieved bronze for uneven bars and silver for the team event (as part of Guangdong team).
Wu participated in the 2010 Doha World Cup, where she won gold on balance beam and floor, and silver on uneven bars. She went on to compete at the Pacific Rim Championships, winning team silver and balance beam bronze. She also won beam gold at the 17th Internationaux de France world cup held in Paris Bercy.
At the 2010 Chinese National Championships, Wu, participating for the Guangdong team, won silver in all-round, and came 4th in uneven bars and 4th in beam. Wu attended the 2010 World Championships in Rotterdam as the 7th reserve member of the Chinese team, and did not end up competing.
In 2011, she competed at the Ghent World Cup where she won gold on balance beam, silver on floor exercise, and bronze on uneven bars. In the fall of 2012, she won bronze on uneven bars at the Chinese Individual Nationals.
Wu continued to compete after the Olympics, winning silver with her team and placing fourth on uneven bars at the Chinese Nationals in May. At the Chinese National Games in September, she helped her team, Guangdong, place fourth. She was announced as a nominative team member for the East Asian Games soon after. There, she helped the Chinese team win a gold medal. She retired after the competition finished.[1]
